Product Details
Created as part of a series of three oil paintings on linen. The painted fabric contours distort the painterly stripes like gradients on a map, disappearing and appearing again at an opposed angle, offering movement and change of pace. The blues deepen and bleed into the space that feels rhythmic and changeable, and the paintings are finished with a deep, rustic, gold leaf edge.
Jo's fabric fold paintings offer a sense of comfort and add depth to a space, and while they would each work well on their own, they also sit together quite impactfully as a diptych or triptych if a space allows.

Drawing on a background in printed textile design, her pieces frequently incorporate historical patterns or floral references, reinterpreted in a contemporary style or setting.
Informed by personal experience, Jo’s paintings delve into themes of escapism, emotional, and mental transformation. A current focus being the exploration of new motherhood and the evolving dynamic between identity and societal expectations.
